Hi!  I see from your profile that you live in NY and I'm on the west coast, so I'm sorry that I can't help you.  My best suggestion would be to search craigs list & www.rentals.co m for properties that allow pets or list them as "negotiable".  Then if you find a property owner/manager that allows pets, you can make it easier for future tenants that will follow you by taking exceptionally good care of the property.  That will help you when you move again by giving you & your furry baby a great rental reference and it will make your landlord more likely to rent to people with pets again.  I really wish that more rentals were open to pets, then maybe fewer pets would be in shelters.   :'(  We always rent to people with pets, but my husband just got back from a backbreaking week in CA cleaning up a property that our last tenants allowed their pets to trash.  Sadly, this stops many landlords from renting to pets again, but it won't stop us.  In fact, our new tenants are moving in this week with their own sweet pupper, but it is frustrating.  We see it as the fault of the humans, not the pets.  It wasn't their fault that their humans weren't there to let them out when they had to go potty, so I feel badly for their pets.  :(

Also, if a prospective landlord seems a little hesitant, but willing to consider it, you might have good luck by offering to let him/her meet Starr so they can see for themselves that she is friendly & sweet.  That & a good pet deposit might just do the trick.  ;)  :)  Just a thought....

Anyway, I really hope that you find the perfect place to live for both of you.  I love the pic that you posted, you both look so happy together.  ;D  I'm glad that you found BPO & I hope that you enjoy it here, too.
