NDR: Any Good Party Tips????

Aggg!!  I need help!  We're having our first big summer soiree since moving back to Indy, and I want it to be great!  Any one have any good drink recipes? Fun, but not lame, party games? Ideas for a main dish (guests are bringing side dishes....I just really don't want to slave over the grill)? Thanks!!

We are soooo on the same page, my friend!  After I posted, I started looking at mojito recipes because I have a garden full of mint!!  I like your idea of partially making them ahead! Good work!

Right now, we have about 30 people coming, and many haven't responded yet! Although most of my friends now have kids, they're all booking babysitters and are "reserving" bedrooms and couches on their evite response!

The party starts in the evening, so I'm even thinking that heavy appetizers might be best.....

  I'm just recovering from our 4th of July party...some of our people couldn't find sitters and brought their kids with them... I set up a volley ball net, had football, frisbee...what ever else to keep them busy...Actuall y, I let the goat and dogs out...I don't remember seeing too many kids in the "adult area"

Sangria is a big hit!  Its that fruity wine...and the fruit that you soak in the liquor is tasty too!

Peach Sangria-for 10-ish people

1-2/3 (750 milliliter) bottles dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc), chilled
1-2/3 cups peach puree
3/4 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon peach brandy
3 tablespoons and 1 teaspoon sugar
1-2/3 peach, pitted and thinly sliced
6-3/4 slices lime

I soak the fruit in the wine overnight *yum*
