Question... Saint or other large breed owners.
« on: September 23, 2005, 09:02:05 am »
Hi Guys.  One question.  Are your Saints rear legs straight.  Max's back feet are pointed outwards and his rear legs are like shaped like an our glass.  His rear "knees are close together and then his legs point outwards.  I guess my question is when you look at you saint from the rear are his rear legs straight?  Just curious.  Maxwell hasn't had a need to go to the vet in a while  and hasn't been to on in 9 months or so.  Last time he was in she said he looked great.  Just wondering if your saints legs were "crooked"..

Keep a very close eye on him. The best site to go and check is the www.saintberna rdclub.org they have the breed standard.

Here's a few photos I just took.  He doesn't limp or appear to have any pain.  And sometimes he looks straighter then at other times.  Any opinions?

I'm no expert, but it looks to me like his bones just have a bit of a "bump" there.  He's not mature yet is he?  Maybe Maxwell's bones are still growing a bit and that is why it is there.

No, he's still a baby.  14 months old.  He walks fine and runs and all other doggy things.   Tomorrow is my SPCA dog jog and I'm sure there will be more Saints there.  I'll have to check them out.
