We are moving
« on: November 25, 2005, 03:19:42 am »
We pick up the truck on Thursday and load everything up.  We will be leaving Friday morning for our new home!  Needless to say this week will be a very busy week as will next week.  Wish us luck!

PS... anyone have any tips on making the transition smoother on Dazy?

moving can be stressful, but more so on humans than dogs, i think.  as tina said as long as the dogs are comfy with their food and toys, they are pretty much home where you guys are.  good luck with everything, hope you get settled quickly!  how wonderful-a new home in time to decorate for christmas!

How exciting!!  A new home!  That's great!   As long Dazy has you, her bowls, her blankets, you, her toys, and you close by, she'll be just fine :D!

I'm sure the dogs will be just fine. Try to unload their things first, so they have something familiar right away. Good luck with the move.

I would get a special box for all the dog things, and pack it last at the old house and first at the new house. I would also get extra special treats and toys for the ride if it is going to be a long one.

We moved a few months ago, but it was a different situation because our new house was only half an hour away and we had proffesional movers. Before move in day we took zoey to the new house to let her sniff around it, and we had been working in it to remodel for months before we moved so it already smelled like me, which i think helped. What freaked her out though was the moving men, so what i did was bring her in my truck. we left at the same time as the moving men, then went to the pet store, took a walk, etc, and didnt come back to the new house until the moving men finished.
