What a weekend
« on: February 26, 2006, 09:16:14 am »
I had a long weekend. Saturday when ben got off of work, we moved everything out of the Livingroom to get it ready to put in hardwood floors. That went a lot easier then we were thinking, which is always good. Then Ben put down that thingie you have to put down to do the floors lol. After we got all that settled we went out to eat, casue our kitchen is full of livingroom things. We get home and get back to the floors. It went fairly good, and yes I actually did help  ;D I admit though around 2:30 I crashed and ben crashed at 3am. So we get up Sunday thinking we will be finsihed with the floors in no time. Keeping in mind we started them Sunday at about 10:30. Well there were more cutting needed then Ben thought, so that took a long time. And it didnt help that our hallway corner is this funky shape. Well at 4pm we finally finish the Livingroom, well we are done with the floors them self. We still need to put up all the trim and what now, which is next weekends mission. It is very pretty though  ;D, but boy was it ever a pain in the butt to do.

Wow it looks great Blair! Watch out for the slip factor with Mr Grey. My sister had the same floor and it took Judge a few days to get used to how slippery it was. Im sure you already figured that out though! LOL
Some day I plan on having the same floor in my living room, I love it!

Oh I LOVE it!!!!! Skyla keeps running across and dancing on it LOL Poor Grey and Zeus are still getting use to it, no one has slipped yet though. Smudge will slip when he starts running full speed, but no damage done to him. It makes a big difference in the house. Cant wait to put the trim up next weekend, its going to be so pretty  ;D

the boys will have fun sliding on it one day. Grace does it all the time...she love to slide on the hardwood floors.
It's so open looking and fresh to have hardwood.

It looks gorgeous.  Did you guys use Pergo or something else?  We have seriously been weighing all the options and are still not quite sure, but after seeing yours, I want some!!

Its not pergo....It was something like Kronotex easy lock. I know it was glueless and the floors just snapped together, with a little help LOL We have been weigh the options too for a few years, but finally broke down and decided to do it and we are both very happy with is. Its a lot better then carpet for us, cause where we live our backyard is sand. We dont have mud, just a whole lot of annoying sand. So to me its a lot easier to keep clean.

Ok, Kronotex, sounds very strong and long lasting kind of like Kryptonite, maybe your pups will develop super powers.  Seriously, thank you for the info, hope they carry that around here, we have a Lowe's and a Home Depot, and that's about it with the exception of Sears.
