Day two of Sadie's house arrest
« on: June 10, 2006, 06:43:46 pm »
Sadie is under house arrest until the 19th. It's day 2. No walks, no seeing people, no seeing dogs... you get the idea. I don't have a fenced yard, so you can imagine the pent up energy. I'm playing fetch in the living room with her as I type.

I think I may take her and Riley to the dog park after it gets dark tonight (no one around) or wake up early to run her by herself (if I take Riley, we have to walk and we go slow... and draw attention). I think if it's early enough, I can avoid people/dogs or cross the street when I see any. We won't make it to the 19th if I don't give her some kind of exercise...

I think that is very thoughtful of you.  You could also try dying her hair a pretty red color, and putting some shades on her, then you might be able to go during daylight!  OH maybe a nice long blond wig too!

Woke up this morning and ran with Sadie. Kept it short and only ran into one person with his dog. I know him, so I just told him as we came up that she was on quarantine. He called his dog back. I came home and took Riley out for the usual walk... Well, a bit shorter, b/c it was just Riley and usually, we walk kind of long for Sadie to get her energy out. Riley can be a "walk around the block tires me out" kind of guy at times...

I guess I don't read all the threads.. Why the quarentine?
That really sucks.  Cider would be mental by the end of two weeks, I'm glad you are finding ways to still get excercise.

Sadie was in a dog fight with my neighbor's dog. My neighbor and a friend of mine went to break it up, and Sadie bit my neighbor. She had to get stitches on her arm. There were 3 puncture wounds in all. So Sadie is under house arrest until the 19th. My neighbor is doing better today, but I feel awful about the whole thing. She's good about it: She knows that Sadie had a previous owner who was abusive towards her and that they were in the midst of a fight when it happened. Still, it's an all-around crappy situation.

Okay I lied I did read that thread, didn't know about the house arrest.
That is a crummy situation.  Least it's only two weeks and you are beign creative about it though.   ;)
