Need suggestions about water bowl???????
« on: November 06, 2006, 01:42:34 pm »
Hi all

Since so many seem to have BPO's that are water or rescue dogs, just curious if anyone has this problem.

Feet in the water bowl??

Fallkor who is a Collie loves water, which is kinda odd I never had a Collie that loved water like this, not for drinking,he has his share of that as well.

Let me explain, water in any form he loves, the hose, bath, spray bottle, anyway it can be presented.

When he was a puppy, baby he would put his feet in the water bowl in the kitchen,so I put a larger bucket it it's place, that seemed to solve the problem, but he is back to it.

Any suggestions on breaking this habit.would be greatly appreciated.

He usually doesn't do this when someone is in the kitchen, but towels on the kitchen floor is getting old,

Having raised Collies in the past I never had this particular problem to solve.

Most avoided if they could getting wet in any form. This will not be true in Falkor's case.

Have you tried raising his water bowl off the floor? It can be a pretty simple fix since she can't reach it with her paws. We have zoey's off of the floor and we have it on top of a container with an inverted lid so that when she splashes with her muzzle she can't spill onto the floor (it just spills over into the lid and then we dump it out into the sink)
