There are 2 Danes at the Shelter where my daughter works. They are almost 7. The owners surrendered them, but I dont remember the exact reason. I think that it was a ""time"" issue. They have been in the shelter for about 7 days. They are brothers and have been together thier entire life.These guys are now sick with a respiratory infection, I am sure that it is from being so stressed out. Those of us who know Danes, know that their size can be deceiving,they are sensitive and stress out easily. I think that these guys just stressed themselves to the point of getting sick. They are also both heartworm positive. So heres the deal- if they are not adopted out by afternoon tomorrow, they will most likely be PTS. I will pay for the adoption. The HW treatment is covered with the adoption if they stay in the Dallas area. I will pay the deductible on the insurance policy so that they can receive treatment for the respiratory infection.(they will each have a health insurance policy for 30 days if adopted) I will help with transportation .I have some calls out to some contacts- just havent heard back from anyone yet. I now am stressing out because I am afraid that we are going to lose the battle on this. I cant take them. I even thought about adopting them and then having them boarded and treated at a vets office, I just do not have the financial resources to do that right now.If anyone wants these guys, please let me know.
