Liz, i need chihuahua advice!
« on: April 02, 2007, 10:04:20 am »
hi again  :D  ha ha.  i need advice on peanut.  is it ok for chi puppies to be a little fluffy?  i've been feeding him 3x a day, because i know they can have problems with their sugar if they don't eat often enough, but i was just wondering if he should have a gut still, or if he should be getting the chi tummy now (will be 5 months on the 11th).  i'm gonna get a pic of him, but i saw you were online ha ha.

peanut is 4 months, just barely shy of 8 1/4 inches at his shoulders and he weighs a little over 3lbs.  here are some pictures of him so you can see.  (sorry about the oh sh*t look on his face in the second one).

modified to add that he's eating diesel innova (he has diesel trained to leavee a big biteful over for him ha ha) and he gets what he can eat in a single sitting.  if he loses interest, looks away, or walks away it gets picked up.

thanks for the help!  the last thing i want is a sick puppy, so that's why i've still been feeding him 3x a day.  can chi's grow past 6 months?  peanut is still a good bit smaller than his mom and his dad, but he was the runt of the litter also.  you're great!

most toy breeds are done growing at 6 months in terms of height, but they can still fill out for another 6 months. My Papillons are still growing their coats in and merlin is two! But your little peanut looks good to me!

thanks!  peanut will more than likely have to have teeth pulled  :'(  his under bite is causing his teeth to be messed up, although it's not effecting his eating!  and thanks, Brownis, for the comment on how peanut looks!

lol thanks!  i'm glad i'm not the only one who agrees with cesar!  now, the only problem is the leash...  he won't walk on it, unless aiden and brandon are like 5 foot in front of us   :-\  we're getting there though!
