Dog versus Hardwood floor
« on: July 15, 2005, 12:38:23 pm »
Anyone else's dog every hit that hardwood floor and just lose their feet.  Maia does it almost daily.  I would love to see pictures of it because I know everytime Maia does it I crack up.  She gets up and looks around like 'who did that to me'.  I have a couple pictures of the action but haven't uploaded them yet.

Let's see what everyone else has.   :P
Thanks,

I'll try to get pictures of the Hardwood Floor burn out this weekend.

My girls aren't good at running on them either, especially right after a bath.

I had to buy another area rug for infront of the bedroom, Kiya just could not get thru there. She makes it worse because she gets hyper & tries to run. My other 2 don't have a problem, I think because shes a baby she'll mellow out. I thought about getting stick on pads for her paws.

Zoey is prone to slip on the wood floors, but I don't find it funny I find it terrifying. I worry about what it is doing to her hips and I wish our house was carpeted  :-\

The first couple of times she did it I was scared.  But now it seems like such a slow, almost controlled slide that I have to laugh.  It definately would not be funny if she got hurt.

When we first had the danes (years ago) they had such a hard time with all the hardwood floor and I got worried about how they were growing and that they would not start to walk on their toes or become hookie in the back or not having a straight top line. So when we built the house we live in now a couple of years ago, I decided on carpets, just so I wouldnt have the slippery floors for the dogs, now mind you I am ready to throw out the carpets and install laminat floors (harder and the toe nails wont kill them) and get bunches of area rugs instead. The thought was good, but with puppies and multiple dogs and other pets well, I am doing more carpet cleaning in a year than most people have to do in a lifetime.

I have some hardwood that needs refinishing, carpet that needs replacing and a really slick tile floor in the kitchen. I saw some slate flooring at the home improvement store and thought that would be wonderful to have. It think it would even keep their nails worn down. :)

I have hardwood floors and they are great - i use small area rugs everywhere.  Gunner sometimes almost hops from rug to rug.  If for some reason the rug is gone then he will remain trapped till someone provides with a rug...lol.  I am plannng on doing the stairs but just using a carpet runner all the way down the stairs.  I have Bamboo floors and they have held up pretty good with nails and such
