anyone work with polymer clay?
« on: July 15, 2007, 07:46:57 am »
I was talking last night about how I had been doing polymer sculpts. I mostly was doing hairless cats, and monkies (don't ask why...LOL) anyway I decided to work on some danes. I did fawn ones, because I am out of other colors right now. :) I did one w/natural ears and one with cropped. So far it is just the heads, they will get bodies, and then baked. Then I can add finishing shading etc. I am going to work on other breeds too. This way I can put back a slush fund for my vet bills. LOL I was selling my other stuff on e-bay, hopefully these will sell too.
What do you think so far?

Those are awesome, Jodi.  I've never worked with polymer clay before.  I do some painting every now and then.  I tried watercolors but I was asked that if I ever come back to the class to actually bring a picture to work from and not paint what's in my head.  Apparently I scared the ladies in the class while my friend laughed at me.

;D They're adorable! You're so talented! I'll order some. (Think you'll do some Pyrs too?) OH = and if you ever get around to giraffes = my Sis has a real thing for them. Um, and lets see. A Swissie for my Neice. A Goldendoodle for another Neice. A Pug for yet another Neice. A English Setter for my Son & DIL. And two kitties for my other Son & DIL. A Yorkie for my Mom. There now. That's my order. And I'm sticking to it.  ;)

You should check out etsy.com - it's a lot like ebay except only for handmade items. You should try listing some of your clay dogs there! And I bet people would especially like it is you could do custom ones of their breed of choise

my e-bay name is z-chic75, I haven't listed any clay stuff for awhile. Right now I have accessories for the OAK (one of a kind) babies. People pey big $$$ for cribs and other accessories for their little dolls. LOL I totally would love doing different breeds, and even custom dogs.I figure they will be about 4-5 inches tall. I can do custom toys to go with the too. Like if a dog has a favorite squeaky or ball etc. I can make that to go with them. On some of the monkies I did I even put magnets in their mouths and then made pacifiers that also had magnets in them so the could be rmovable. I could do the smae with the dog toys...I have sooo many ideas now. LOL
