Louisiana Pet Rescuer needs some help
« on: August 18, 2007, 06:46:27 pm »
I received this email from another rescuer. If you can even help with $5.00 - all those little donations add up. I personally know how finances can get away from you when you are trying your best to do so much good, and here in the South, those electric bills skyrocket so fast. We are having one of the hottest summers on record down here.

Please help if you can:

My name is Sandra DiTusa and I am the Executive Director of Spay Baton Rouge.  My organization has been blessed to have amazing people volunteer their time for us to achieve a lot in a small amount of time.  Because of our amazing volunteers we have been able to fix over 2,000 cats/dogs at risk of adding to our pet overpopulation problem in the first 17 months of running our program.

I want you to know I rarely do mass mailings, and have never done so on behalf of a person, yet feel this animal lover who takes in and cares for every stray person and animal who comes her way is deserving of our help.

Priscilla, a volunteer has given to our organization tirelessly, is now in a very scary position for her, her fiancĂ© and all of the rescue animals (14 cats/dogs) she has taken in to care for when no-one else would.  She spends all of her money on her (and other's) animals and bare necessities on herself.  This finally has caught up with her.  In the middle of the hottest part of the summer, as it seems to be here in Baton Rouge (over 100F without including the head index) her electricity has been turned off.  She owes two months in electricity bills, which comes close to $600 (including the re-hook up fee).

I am emailing to ask for a donation, however big or small, and together, we should be able to turn her electricity back on.  Last night was their first night without electricity, and am hoping it will be their last.

Please donate whatever you feel you can by donating to sfditusa@cox.net via paypal (click on the secure link below), if there is any extra money donated, I will apply it as a credit to her electricity company so she won’t have to worry about that bill for a while.

Please forward this to anyone who might be inclined to help a fellow animal lover.  Please email me with any questions or concerns, and thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Sandra DiTisa
