What a beautiful dog.  This is interesting because me and BF (Aeryk) were just talking about dogs and the space needed to keep them.  In our opinions, we don't really think that it's the space dogs need.  We think that it's the activities that we do with them that enrich their lives and make them comfortable and happy.  Take our situation for example.  We live in a 2 story six-plex that is about 825 square feet.  We have no yard or courtyard for that matter.  Basically we are pretty squished in to say the least.  Our friends have asked us when we were going to give up the charade and admit that we are running a shelter.  So in order to counter the lack of space we walk and practice obedience and do what we can to occupy their little minds with a good challenge and so far things are pretty good.  Don't get me wrong, I want a house.  I want a house with a yard really really bad.  But in due time we'll have our home and yard BUT I know we will still continue to walk and exercise the dogs bodies and minds outside of the home.  I just wonder though if that dog needs space to make it's life "happy"?   Hopefully the new owner will be able to spend more time with  that baby.  Who wouldn't want to?

OMG he is just beautiful. I have a contact for a pyr rescue in the US. I'll see what I can do. I would hate to see him go to a shelter. And why did this person get a pyr in the first place? Obviously she didn't do her homework about the breed.

I couldn't agree more. I was outside walking Miles yesterday and I woman with an older golden retriever walked up to me (as her dog was growling at Miles, and he wanted to go play with the GR sooo bad! Of course I don't let him play with growling dogs though haha.) Anyway, the woman said..."that's a great pyrenees isn't it?" And I was like "yep!" And she goes, "oh, they're a handful. My sister has one. I don't think that kind of dog will do well in the city. They need a place to run." I was so shocked that she said that to me! First of all, pyrs could care less about running! Second of all I take him on at LEAST 2 walks a day and to the park (including dog park so he can run along the trails off leash) a good 3 to 4 times a week. So who is she to say my dog can't live in the city? UGH!

I guess what struck me was that the poor boy is already 3 1/2 years old, so unless they got him as an older boy, they've had him all this time and just now figured out that he "needs space" and is "miserable in the city". I supposed it's possible that they recently got him, but they would sure look a little better in the ad if they said that. He's a pretty boy...I hope someone who knows what they are doing can take him in.

That's awesome - I hope it works! With CL, there's always that risk of running into some moron who doesn't return emails or who dumps the pet if no one responds within 10 minutes or whatever. It would be too cool if that handsome boy became an official BP!
