Any other Greybeard's out there?
« on: September 06, 2005, 10:26:24 am »
I just love the wizened look of the older "greybeard" pups.  Seeing MustLove Dogs's Sammy pictures made me want to see others that might be out there.  :)  I'd like to see kind of a before and after thing, like photo's of them as a young adult and then as a Greybeard.  Please share them if you've got them!

This is Mojo as a youngun of 4yrs and then one taken a couple weeks ago at 9yrs.  He's not dark so its not as dramatic, but you can see his eyebrows and cheek patches are all washed out with silver now.  He's even got silver in the rest of his coat, most noticably where there's a break in his collar.  I love my old man.  :D

Then is Gyrl.  She adopted us last November, so we don't have any before pictures of her.  I love the silver masks though, they make them look so gentle.   :-*

Keiko is getting there, but since she is light to begin with, I don't think her greying will make much of a difference.  But she now has about 4 or 5 white whiskers that were previoiusly black.

Koby's going grey and he's only 18 months old!!!!  I'm very depressed even tho Ang says, "It's just genetic".  Still everytime I look at him it reminds me of the crappy aging process.  He'll be an old man before I know it!  I'll try to get a pic, doesn't show up too well because the silvers are just starting to come in but I notice it.  :'(

Cabo had a grey mustache when I adopted him at 4 years old...

This was taken not too long after we adopted him, but I don't think we have any developed pictures of him as an old man (we suffer from the million-rolls-of-undeveloped-film syndrome...)   :D

I can totally see why Ranger reminds you of Cabo. They have the same look in their eye.  :)

Thanks Nicole.  I see that too, and although in many ways they are very different, I think it was that similarity that drew me to Ranger.

Cabo, whom I also called Mr. B, was my first dog as an "adult", and was with me through EVERYTHING - cancer, divorce, everything.  He was absolutely my heart.

(Ranger is more like my a**, heh heh)   ;D
