OH no, no, Blair! Please don't think that I meant any direspect to you! I meant in general, betweenthe different ages playing, there is no drinking allowed in the stands or fistfighting. We holler and cheer and stomp too. And when there is a bad call or an illegal hit and one of our kids are down we go a little crazy too, and opinions are voiced loudly and on no uncertain terms. But having attended both types of games for years I by far prefer youth hockey. There is something so endearing about watching 6 and 7 year olds during a game doing their best and still bumbling, fumbling and falling over each other, and still get off the ice with a huge grin of accomplishment on their faces. It's like watching a litter of puppies chase each other and a ball in the back yard. It just leaves you with a basket full of warm fuzzies.
Nick's games however are very fast, and very rough. We switched clubs at one point and under the new club banner Nick had to play his old teammates. In the second period they hit him in the crease when he was covering the puck.He played the rest of the game with a 3rd degree shoulder separation because they told him before the game that if he stepped on the ice, they would carry him off. I understand the protective feelings quite well. If I could have gotten a hold of those kids I'd have ended up in prison.
