Thanks Gyps!
I visited the battleground 5 years ago and walked it in its entirety.
It was a dream fulfilled.
I saw a reinactment Custer's Last Stand on t.v once & then on the same program saw the actual battleground.. .that gave me chills!...I can't imagine how it felt to walk there! :)

I had goosebumps!
Nobody knows exactly how the battle went down, one Native American said, " The fight lasted as long as it took a hungry man to eat his lunch."  After the battle, in an effort to reconstuct what happened, and when it happened, the Native American combatants were interviewed. Unfortunately the Native Americans view of time doesn't involve clocks, so there was conflicting time frames of the same segment of the battle, even though the segment was described the same way by all participants.
It's a mystery that will never be solved.
The scientific name for an animal that doesn't either run from or fight its enemies, is Lunch.--Michael Friedman
