I got...
« on: November 02, 2005, 01:10:50 am »
contacts!! (yes, I'm still grounded)
But I'm so happy about getting contacts finally it makes it better to watch movies without the glasses getting in the way ;D

I'm getting colored, ocean blue, and clear. I have my trial pair on now. It took about an hour with the nurse to learn how to put them on, but I think I have it now!

Ok, yes I know very pointless but I'm so excited about it! :P

Yay!  Contacts!

You will be amazed at how soon you will become comfortable with touching your own eyeball...   ;D

So cool! I always wanted to wear glasses in school cuz I thought it would make me look smart.  ;) I also really wanted contacts for a long time but I couldn't get over the idea of sticking something into my eyeball. Oh well, maybe someday.  :D

When you can, take a pic with your colored eyes in so that we can see the difference.

You get to where you can do it in your sleep.  If I did not have contact I would run into walls.

I lived for my contacts until they took them away from me...   ;D

I am really super hard to fit for contact lenses.  I had to stop wearing soft lenses, because the calcium deposits got too bad.  So they put me in hard lenses.  They worked out pretty well, except they moved a little bit each time I blinked.  This would make my eyes red, but not that big a deal...  Well, however many years down the road, they discovered that this rubbing had caused actual scarring on my inner eyelids.  (I know - yuck).  So I had to take a break from contacts and go back to glasses.  Years later I am still in glasses, and now I think I look weird without them.  There is too much space between my eyes and rest of my face....!  ;D

I have a love/hate relationship with my contacts.  I love not having to wear my glasses, but within the last 3 years, my contacts have been getting harder and harder to wear.  My eyes are irritated all the time, and I end up taking them out by like 6pm.  I'm waiting to get corrective surgery.

Getting contacts is so exciting.  I know I refused to go to high school until I could get them.  I had the big honkin' see thru but tinted aqua glasses, so you could hardly blame me.

Edited to add:  Tina, my hubby is like you.  He can't stand to watch me put them in, he starts gagging.  In fact, when he got an eye infection, he couldn't even put the drops in his eyes.  I had to do it.  And I had to sit on his arms and pry his eyes open to get the drops in there, or else he would weld his eyes shut and swipe at me with his hands.  He was such a baby.
