PUppy teeth???
« on: December 11, 2005, 07:54:52 pm »
Hey, i have a question. fumble seems to be bleeding at the rear of his mouth, right where a tooth seems to be missing.  do they usually bleed a little when they lose their puppy teeth??  it just kinda startled me because he came up to me and got bless the newfie drool, it caught all the blood and scared me!  If someone could let me know, that would be grEAT! thanks!

Zoey bled a little when she lost her teeth - she would be chewing something and all the sudden it would have red on it. It freaked us out at first too, but don't worry it just means that the tooth just came out and the gum is healing over

Don't worry, perfectly normal. A little blood in saliva/drool looks like alot of blood, (when it isn't.)

Oh my gosh! You sound just like me. Bear is my first real dog and when he began loosing his teeth I freaked out. I even took him to the ER one night thinking that something I was feeding him was killing him because his mouth was bleeding.  ::) Luckily, they looked at me like I was nuts and assured me that his baby teeth were coming out. I know it seems silly but paying $85 for peace of mind was totally worth it...and I have about 6 baby teeth to love and cherish forever. :)

haha... i'm like a nervous ninny when he comes to him.. i always feel like i'm super cautious.. and he's super chatty, so sometimes he whines, and i think somethings wrong and try to give him water or ice cubes to soothe whatever it may be.. now i know that he's just fussy!  hehe!

i'm going to clean and bag that lil sharp tooth! it will always make me remember my 65lb. 5 mos old baby!  hehehe

Awwwe, your little boy is growing up!  :)

I wish I had saved what I found of Keiko's teeth.  I have a whole bunch of Gunther's sitting on a shelf.  I still need to clean them and bag them.  I think I save like 7 or 8 teeth.

Angus bled a little bit as well when teething but that didn't bother me. Talk about being freaked out, just check out this pic of Angus and notice how many canines he has!!!! I noticed it in the morning I took the picture, worried about it all day, rushed home after work to get to the vet and get the deciduous teeth pulled. When I got home I gave Angus a stick that was on the ground, when he bite it he yelped and so I looked at him and his extra teeth fell out when he bite the stick. I found 1 of the 2 canines and added it to the collection (I have 6 of his puppy teeth).

Hi,

Winslow has the multiple K9's right now!! I keep a few soup bones (uncooked) around for him to knaw on. I get a bag from the supermarket and freeze them, I give him a frozen soup bone every few days and he chews away, I think the frozen bone is a little more soothing on his teeth, :D

And we notice a little blood on his favorite stuffed toys but he doesn't seem to notice at all.
