Miss Ellie runs away
« on: January 22, 2006, 06:47:47 pm »
Well it's been a while since i have posted anything but I thought it might be interesting.
took Ellie out to do her buisness last night and i let my guard down for 1 second and she took off before i could stop her. The bad thing is that she is in heat!! I look for her for three or four hours, disheartened I finally resigned my self to the fact she was simply gone and probably for good. My wife kept a watch for her all night just because she knows what Ellie means to me. A round 2:30 am  Elllie shows up cold and wet ,it had been raining. I hope she didn't get pregnant, i wanted to breed her next time she came in heat. I really cant handle a litter of pups right now. This may seem mean or cruel but anyway to terminate a pregnancy in a dog. Please dont think bad of me ....I am not a bad  person. Any thoughts are welcomed

Good you want to terminate but why do you want to breed her?

See your vet ASAP as he can give your girl an injection that's like the morning after pill for humans. It's far more cruel to let her have a litter of unplanned and crossbreed puppies than her having a simple injection to prevent her actually conceiving in the first place.

And keep her on a lead from now on when she's in season!

I only know you can abort and spay.  I don't think you can just abort without risk of messing her up.
Thanks,
