Equine Transporters?: Update
« on: February 07, 2006, 04:38:10 pm »
Anyone know of any good equine transporters.  My cousin is thinking of buying a filly in Iowa and needs to get her here to Southeast CT if she does.  Actually we could probably switch off somewhere in NY or CT.  If anybody knows of any qualified and licensed transporters PM me.  Thanks everyone.

Plus any advice would be good too.....it's our first time using a professional transporter.

I don't know Chaos, I have been out of horses for so long. Maybe check with your vet or farrier, they may have some recommendation s?

We know of someone near here that does it occasionally by herself but I was wondering if any of the horse people on here knew anyone that was better or a bigger company.  I figured someone might know something.

We shipped my horse from northern Arizona to the central coast of California about 5 years ago.  We used Horesin' Around.  Our experience was very good.  They were very caring and competent.  My horse arrived very calm and well cared for.  It was a number of years ago, but I would use them again.  Good luck!

Thanks for the help we haven't made the decision yet but it'll probably be between horsein around and the local woman.

I know of a few really good horse transporters in Canada.  I checked out their websites at lunch, and they are only located in Canada (I thought maybe they'd have something in the US).

Sorry - best of luck!  ;)

Ok everyone I forgot to post earlier that Seven is now at her new home thanks to Horsein Around Transport.  She's a very mouthy two year old but is quite the prospect.  She's a beautiful silver grulla.  Here's a pic of her bleached out but she's a gorgeous silver underneath the bleaching.  Most of the pics are from today...her first time bridled and sat on while bridled.  The first is from the day after she arrived.
