Oh Blair I love German Shorthaired Pointers. We had one for a day--my first female rotti hated the little girl we brought home. She had to go back to the breeder. :'( We actually thought about getting one before we got wingding Farley ::)

Oh I hope you get one ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My husband wants one to hunt with, so we are looking for a GSP with an awesome hunting pedigree. There are a lot to pick from down here. I emailed a few breeders now just waiting to hear back, I hate that part LOL.

I love the german shorthaired pointers, I really wanted to get one but then someone told me they aren't good with kids or other dogs so I blindly trusted and started looking at mastiffs.  I now have a mastiff who has to meet other dogs slowly, is scared of any kids she hasn't known since she was little, and is stubborn as a mule.
Thanks,

Emily and 1 husband, 1 boy, 1 on the way, and 4 crazy dogs

I love GSP's.  I like the wirehaired more, but the short-haired are just as lovely.

A lady that used to frequent our dog park had 2 purebreds and one GSP mix.  That's how I found out they can come in a gorgeous solid chocolate color.  Never seen anything like it, but I guess they're failry commen in Europe, where this lady was from.

HA! Blair you're crazy!  :D My best friend has a GSP. He's a SPAZ! I guess I'm just one for the big, lazy, drooly couchwarmers. Gabriel, my best friend's GSP, is ALWAYS bouncing off the walls, zooming around, in your face. He's really obedient, just has massive amounts of energy.

Have fun, girl!  :D

LOL We had a GSP in the past before and he was a great dog. He now lives with our friend, but we still pay for all of his food and vet bills. We let our friend take him for awhile to train him correctly to hunt but when we got him back he was very aggressive towards Zeus [Zeus was like only 6 months] and just unhappy cause we didnt have a ranch, like my friend, and didnt have much time to take him hunting like he was use to cause of my husband's job. So we just let him live at my friend's ranch while we paid for everything for him. But we are now back on our feet and with my husband's new job he has a lot of time to spend with a puppy now. So we are excited to get another one.  ;D
