Why I rescue
« on: April 22, 2006, 07:00:40 am »
This short film was sent to me by one of the rescue groups I have adopted a dog from. It is really powerful and heartbreaking.
(It is not recommended for children.)

If you have ever rescued a dog, this will make you very proud of your decision. And if you have ever thought about breeding, maybe this will make you really think about whether you want to.

Hi Rebekah,
I've been on both sides of this terrible, sad situation. By that, I mean rescue and euthanizing at an animal shelter. I wish that this video could get out to everyone...not just people that already understand, like us. I wish there were some way to distribute this widely to morons, ya know?
In any case, thanks for reminding me of why I do what I do and even pushing me to work a little bit harder.

Wow, that is a powerful video.  But the things shown on there are what needs to be said.  I don't think people realize the concequences of their actions sometimes.  I too wish this could be distributed nationwide to those who need to see it most.

Excellent video. My first dog was a shelter pup. I thought about breeding my Zoey, but a month ago, we got both girls spayed. I decided no, I'll leave that to responsible breeders, not for me.

That video was so sad. :( I'm so happy I rescued Kitana even though she drives me crazy! Her personality makes it all worth it.

Dealing Dogs is another horrifying video to watch, its an hour long and it talks about animal dealers who buy dogs and get them from pounds and 'humane societies'.  I cry whenever I think of this.   :'( :'(

This is POWERFUL!!!

It would be nice if we could some how collect enough money to have this shown during prime time on the major networks.

WOW - that video is powerful and sooooo heart wretching! My heart breaks for all the unwanted, abused and shelter animals...

It would be awesome to get it played on major networks.... and played with the trailers at movie theaters.... and in schools and courtrooms across the country!
