My sister had/has some rarer tiel colors.  I know one pearl, one silver pearl? (I'm so not good with anything other than gray and lutino) and I think she has a white one now too.

Unfortunately she lost her first one, the pearl (the one that caused my female to start feather plucking) to her ferrets in a freak accident.   :'(

Oh , how sad !!! My ferret has never really payed attention to my birds , just sniffs them then runs on by but I don't think I'd leave them alone together . I have a white faced lutino (albino) ! Here he is , his name is Julez. His eyes look so bright red in the pic but they're really a dark amber . He's my only hand fed baby and a total love ! I have HORRIBLE luck with lutinos though , I've had three over the years and every one of them has died  :-[ I don't know why ..... So I went with an albino this time !

Well my femael, although not really a lutino is getting up there in age.  I'm not sure of her exact age, but she was at least one year old when we got her from the shelter.  I've had her now for 12 1/2 yrs, so that would put her at least at 13 1/2 yrs old.   :)

the little male was actually a stray found in someone's yard.  He even has a leg ring, so I'm assuming he belonged to a breeder.  The person who found him gave him to a client of mine, who a few months later gave to me.  He just got his adult feathers a few months ago so he must be close to a year old.  It's been so long since I've read up on birds I'm a bit rusty on the details.

I have a hen that is 13 years old ( or close to ) too ! She may have been hand fed ( I got her when she was about 8 years old ) as she does know how to "step up" and has never bitten even when I clip her wings, nails ,etc ... but she'd much rather be with other birds than people . But I still like having her around!

Well, my old lady is not so sweet......lol .  She will step up, and loves to have her head scratched, but it you don't do it right, she will let you know and peck at you.  :D

She is very moody.  In fact, when we first got her she was my sister's bird.  My sis thought she was too mean, so I bought Lacy from her and she got her pearl baby Beau (was hoping for a male....who later layed eggs....lol).  Lacy tamed up soon enough, it just takes her awhile to get used to you and she doesn't like strangers, as most birds don't.  I dont think she was used to being handled much, and she definitley does not like being with other birds, although does like their company in the cage next to her.

The little male though, Pasta, was definitely hand raised.  he is very gentle and will rub up against your finger when he wants to be scratched.  And although not perfect, he is very patient about me cleaning his nares and being held down.

One of my lutinos that passed away , Princess Di , L-O-V-E-D to have her head scratched , to the point that it was annoying ! You would want her to step up and she'd duck her head down , feathers fluffed out ... You'd try to fill her dishes etc , and she'd have her head pressed against you , try to close her cage door , her head was in the way ...waiting to be scratched .LOL  I miss it so much now !
I have a 'tiel that is totally opposit though , it's one of the babies my pair had a few years ago , their eggs hatched about a month after I found out I was pregnant with our daughter , I was so sick it took all I had just to feed the parents ,clean their cage ,etc ... I hardly had the energy to try to get the babies out and hand feed them ,so I only took them out every couple days ,held them for a bit , put them back , etc ... The male grew up to be skittish , but you can catch him and hold him , and he'll let you kiss him on the head ,and he loves to sing to me ! The female ,ooooh she's nasty ! She can bite thru leather gloves , and it hurts sooooo badly ! I can't stand her .LOL I tried to sell her ...then tried to give her away and no one wanted her .LOL so I'm stuck with demon bird ! She is pretty though ....

Oh, she is pretty.

She sounds kind of like my Lacy, although Lacy's not quite that bad.  She has drawn blood from me before though.  Got me right where your nail meets your finder on the side.  Ouch!

No one else messes with her but me.  Hubby is afraid to hold her even if she's wrapped in a towel to clip her wings or very rarely her nails.  She rarely gets pissed off enough to the point where she bites that hard.  Usually she'll just pinch you good.

when we first got her, she went thru the phase of just wanting her head rubbed constantly.  If you tried to get her to step up to your finger, she's peck and bite at you, then lower her head to be scratched..... ..lol.  I'm like, no, that's not how it works.   :D  I really think she was so unused to the attention, she just ate it up in the beginning.
