What do you think?

We went to visit the kennel we’re most likely taking Kate to while we’re in PEI this summer.  It’s called “The Country Club Pet Resort”, and WOW – we were quite happy with it.  Every dog we saw looked happy, not stressed. ;) It’s the kennel with the best reputation here by far, and everyone we met knew a lot about giant breeds, which impressed us. :o They’ve been in business for 50+ years.  There’s one more we’re taking a look at next weekend that was recommended to us.

The rooms aren’t very big, but they are air conditioned and have a dog door leading to an outside run (which is quite big), and it’s covered so will always be shady (with a Leo, shade sure is important)! ::)

Of course we will bring Kate’s own food.  No personal stuff is allowed (toys, beds, etc.) in order to prevent any disease.  We asked and aren’t allowed to bring Kate’s raw bones for her, but I suppose this will be fine as she’ll be too tired after playing with other dogs to worry about her treats. :D One of the ladies giving us the tour said that the dogs are up around 8am, and when they go to bed at 7pm, they do not make a sound the rest of the night cause they’re so tired (except when they go out to do their business of course)! ::)

Daily activities include swimming in the pool with a friend (during summer), one-on-one personal attention with their keeper twice daily, and exercise with a friend in a romping corral twice daily.  They also get one of the following every day: exercise in the off-leash park (with a friend); or a walk around the entire resort (on-leash) with a friend.  They said they will be having a female Berner pup staying the same time as Kate, and if they get along during introduction, they will most likely be resort “friends” (during activities) the entire time. Aw! ;D :)

As hard as it will be to leave Kate (yes – I’ll be balling my face off), we really think she’ll have a good time, and that she’ll learn a lot during her stay. ;)

Oh, and the security within the resort is quite impressive too! :)

Here are some pics...

I have never seen anything like that in my life. That place is amazing,  I think it would be a vacation for me if I stayed there.

Holy cow, that sounds like more fun than any vacation I've ever been on!  Thumbs wayyyyy up!
When Badger was a year old, we were taking a short trip and we took him to this 'great kennel' that turned out to be a h*ll hole, it looked like out of some doggy torture video (OK not torture, but it looked like the dog pound with dogs crying and barking constantly, over-hot, and horrible crate areas for dogs)we left, telling them politely that we would call when we were ready to book.  David took one look at my face when we got in the car and knew we weren't leaving our baby there.
We found a really awesome place like the one you are using, and we wouldn't hesitate to leave Badger there!

Wow That looks like a great place for furkids to take a vacation. I don't think I would worry to much if I left mine there. They would have a fun time.

This place looks amazing! When my mom and I and the girls go to Kansas City for the Dog n Jog, we're leaving them at a place called Duke's Backyard, and as long as the owner approves their temperaments as not being aggressive, that's where they'll be staying. I'm crossing my fingers that it will all work out great! But I'm so glad that Kate will have such an awesome place to stay. She'll have so much fun!

That place looks awesome. Mine go to Dog Daycare and when they come home they are pooped, I would love to have a place like that though. She will be so happy to see you, but you know that she will be happy there.

Incredible place! Looks like they have put a lot of effort into the facilities and design. I am sure Kate will love it and you will all enjoy PEI.

Wow!  That looks better than some of the "vacation resorts" that I've been to myself! :D
