Obsessed with my shoes
« on: June 01, 2006, 06:42:02 pm »
lainey is obsessed with my shoes, i wonder, is it the odor in them that attracts her so much to them  :o
she will leap up to where i have them hidden from her, and take them and run with them ;0)
she has two chew shoes for her to chew on, but lately those are not good enough, i know that is bad, becouse how can she tell the difference, but, i am determined to catch her in the act and teach her wich shoes she can chew on! ;)

Very cute pic of Angus :)

Bear is also a shoe chewer...my nice brown leather mary janes were the last victims yesterday  >:(. Usually she just chews the laces but on this last pair which did not have laces she precisely chewed only the straps off.

I personally think that's confusing, at least for Badger, I don't think he could tell the difference if he was allowed to chew on some but not others.  I think if he tried to eat one of my shoes, I would teach him a lesson by gnawing on one of his feet! ;)

I take old socks , tie two together , and let the dogs use them for tug-o-war , and they all know that they can chew on them , but not any other socks the kids leave lying around ,etc . I've not had a problem yet !

My dad, while he was visiting gave fumble a chew shoe.. Well he blew that one! And we just let him go with it. Funny thing though, I don't think he has really touched the shoe, EVER! hahaa.. He goes for the uggs and the flip flops, usually while they are still on our feet!!
We just heard from the breeder that its Jalepeno sauce, maybe that could be something you could dab on the shoes?? Im not too sure how you feel about that on your feet though!  :P

LOL
 :D

Honestly, Kuma is just a good Pup.  Her little puppy annoyances are far and few….and I am blessed that she is not a chewer.  Furniture….DS's toys on he floor…Kuma certainly is given every reason and yet she is faithful in chewing only her things…
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SHOES!  ;D
She LOVES shoes and we all know better then to leave them on the floor!

Weird…wonder if they should put that under “common Newf Characteristic s”!  :D

Kali's been pretty good about shoes but as a pup she'd attach herself to shoelaces or pantlegs.  Yeah it was hard to walk with a 50 lb newf pup attached to your foot  ::).  Luckily she stopped around 55lbs.  Some of my jeans still have holes.  She likes to chew on the dog couch though both arms have major damage and she's stolen my flipflops a few times.
