I was looking for info. on Pyrs being used to save the St. Bernard from extinction & finally someone on another group posted this link for me...It not only mentions Pyrs as being used along with Newfies & some other breeds to create the long haired St. but it is also a really good article...Just wanted to share!

Interesting.. Lots that I didn't know.

I knew they used Newfs and Mastiffs.. but it looks like there is a little of everything in there. LOL
