IT'S HERE!!! My Drake Fur Hat is Here!

After such a long wait, my patience has paid off.  I forgot to get the mail yesterday, so I checked it today before I went to work.  There was a package in there and insided it was my DRAKE FUR HAT!!!  It is so great!!!  My friend hand crocheted it in about 2 days and she did such a great job.  I had to take off for work, so I'll take some pictures tonight and post them.  You guys really need to do something like this, it is so cool!  I have been smiling all morning.  ;D ;D ;D

Its about time!  If you had to wait much longer, you might have gotten frostbite!  A fur hat is JUST what you need with this weather right now! LOL!  I can't wait for the pics, I bet it is so cool!  Mastiffs don't have much in the line of fur, so no fur hats from my guys, but they sure do make a nice wall to wall carpet.

Cool!...I am anxious to see what it looks like!...Samson's breeder spins Sam & Pippin's hair (I keep it for her.) along with her Pyrs hair & knits hats, mittens, ect...I believe I am getting something this year...I better with all the hair I've given her!...How much does it take again fot a hat?...I know you posted the info. before but I can't remember. :-\

No...lol!...That's 3 weeks worth of blown coat...probabl y 3 good groomings...It had been stuck in a bag though so it is compressed...W e're still brushing out blown coat here. :-\

Oh thank god.. It's a whole THREE grooms.  I use a lint brush to clean Mika lol.  You can probably get a scarf out of all that!

Ok, I know I look scary in these pics, but I don't care.  I'm off to Alaska tomorrow and I'm growing a manly Fisherman moustache, at least I'm trying to....

So here's the hat.  It's so warm!  A bit of advice to you folks, if you're going to do this, use the undercoat if you can.  It's much softer.  My hat is a bit scratchy, but hopefully it will soften with time.  Maybe a run in the washer with some liquid softener will help.  Gypsy, the hat cost me NOTHING!!!  My friend crocheted it for me, I'll send her some wine.  The only cost was getting the yarn made.  $70 for 10 oz.  So what do you guys think?  Comments please, be honest.  Cute?  Ugly?  My wife is embarrassed and friends think I'm nuts to want a hat made out of my dogs fur.  I don't care, it will be a part of Drake that I will be able to keep forever!   ;D

With the heatwave in MY area right now, just looking at it gives me heat exhaustion.  It looks extremely warm, perfect for Alaska!

Honestly...I think the hat is ABSOLUTLY FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...& you look SO happy with it!...I think that is awesome too!!...I love the whole thing!...The idea, the hat, how happy you are about it!...Way cool! ;D

b.t.w., I meant how much hair to make the hat...not the cost...Just wanted to make sure I gave Sam's breeder enough to expect something from her. :D
