Derby chews his nails
« on: August 05, 2006, 05:16:22 am »
A couple times now I have caught Derby chewing on his toenails - not just nibbling, but chewing on them like he's trying to trim them with his teeth. They are really not long like they need to be cut, though. He is especially interested in the nails on his double dews. Anyone else ever had a dog that does this?

Koby does that too!! lol  He usually just chews his back nails and we never really have to trim those, he does it for us, although I do worry about them getting infected because of it.  At one point he had one chewed down so far the quick was sticking out the end!  :o  That scared me.  When we do trim his nails if we don't pick them up right away he'll run around the living room eating his left over nail stubbs... ICK!
