newfie mix ??

Is this a newfie mix? They think it is but it's hard to tell from the picture.
Either way, he's on borrowed time at that local pound .

I am located in BC, about an hour east of Vancouver. 

Seeing all these poor animals at a kill facility makes me sick , just sick !!

I'm hoping someone knows of someone looking for a pup, bringing attention to these is the best I can do for now.
