We are all pulling for you!  I think it's pretty good news that he's made it through the night and isn't worse.  Could be that he's fighting the good battle.  I don't think there's much you can do when he's just being a dog....eating every thing that smells "good"....

Do your neighbors use rat poison?   If a poisoned rat comes on to the farm and dies....

Do you live in the South? The blinking eyes and tilted head sounds like toad (bufo) poisoning. They have a pretty limited range, mostly Florida and along the gulf, some further into Texas, a possibility in the Carolinas and Georgia. It can be a long recovery, but most dogs who make it through the first night recover completely eventually.

I'm new to this site, but I really know your feeling,
I went thru it. friday 13th oct. someone poisoned Titan, only two yrs. old, we tried but couldn't save him, three other dogs that where black got it too. but no one was caught.
