Izabelle and her seizures ......*update* #2
« on: October 11, 2006, 02:00:30 pm »
This past Saturday would have been her 6 week mark for being seizure-free but unfortunetly she had anotherĀ  :( So I had to wait until the Dr's office opened again on Tuesday to let her Doctor know what's going on , surprisingly this time they got right on the bat , gave me a referal to a neurologist , and she's going to have a "sleep deprived EEG" ( whatever the heck that isĀ  :-\ ) next Wednesday . So please wish us luck ! But I don't know , anything involving sleep deprivation and a 1 year old cannot be good ! LOLĀ  :P

AHHH man!!  I know you're worried.  Good thing that your doctor is getting her in!  Don't forget to write down any specifics and all questions that you have from now until before you see the doc.  Ask also if there is a possibility that it could be something environmental, or some odd allergy.  This day and age there are so many little things that cause reactions and symptoms of big things that there is no telling what may be going on (did that make sense, this is the second time I'm having to type this!).  Just remember the list, and no question is a stupid one when it concerns your baby.  Good luck.
God placed me on this earth to accomplish certain tasks...I'm so far behind I'll never die!!

Thankyou to everyone for your kind thoughts  :) I looked up "Sleep Deprived EEG" on the 'net ...... Seems I have to keep her up until 11 PM , then let her sleep until 2 AM , then I get to attempt to keep her awake until the appointment at 8 AM . What the heck ?!?! I can just imagine how this is going to turn out . I'm 6 months pregnant , I'm tired already , I don't know if I can make it on 3 hours of sleep ! LOL I'll be pretty loopy I guess  :P I'll let ya know how it turns out  :-\  ;D

Hey sweetie - Sorry to hear about the latest episode.

Yup , sleep deprived EEG is just that. You've got to make her completely exhausted. It's very hard...I know when we took Jon is for his, he proved that yes, he can sleep standing straight up. *eye-roll*

Is there anyone who can help you that night/morning? Any relatives you can have come over for a "shift"? It's really important that you follow that schedule exactly, but I know that both of you are going to be completely exhausted, which is going to make it even more difficult.

Keep your spirits up, it sounds like the Doctors are really on the ball here. Let me know if you need anything, or have any questions.

Thankyou so much , I'll check out that link in a few minutes ! I have absolutely no friends or family close to me , my husband however is *hoping* he can get that day off . He's been out of town alot trucking lately so he just has to be able to get back in time . Otherwise I know it won't be humanly possible and I'll just have to reschedule  I guess . I know I can make it thru the night but I am just wondering how I'll keep Izzy awake . I mean , she's been on a schedule for so long , she's used to going to bed by 8:30 pm . And if we slack and let her stay up longer she can't even do it , she'll fall asleep at the table eating , or even in the middle of the floor . I even have a picture of her falling asleep standing up , just resting her head on the couch ! LOL I'm certain I'll never forget this ! LOL

We watched the Wiggles for hours. (Lots of Dancing and loudness involved) That kept him up and moving about. We also did some baking, so he got to play with the dough and such. We did art projects and drove remote control cars through the house. (Bumber cars...he was a destructive little tyke!! *lol*)

Basically, anything and everything that we could think of to keep him upright and moving. Just like your Izabelle, the second he was sendentairy for more than a minute, he would doze off, so it became our sole goal to not have him sit down. If she likes to dance, put on some great music and dance as much as possible, or excersise videos...anyth ing like that.

My Mom and I worked together. I was divorced and living by myself, so she came over for the evening to help. I hope your husband is able to get the time off to be there with you. It's much easier when there's at least two people to keep the energy level up.

My husband got the day off ( thankyou Lord ! ) but he has to be up for work at 3 am on Tuesday so I don't think he'll be staying up all night with me . LOL He'll only be a zombie and drag us down with him .  ;D What I am really worried about is the drive into the doctors office , we live an hour and a half away from them , I'm wondering how I will keep her awake in the car ! Hubby will drive and I'll sit in the back but let's face it , cars always put tired kids to sleep !

We will keep you in our thoughts. Boy that is tough having to keep her up for so long.  To help with the car ride maybe go to the dollar store and get several toys and wrap them up in wrapping paper and give them to her on the ride.  Unwrapping will take up some time and I have yet to see a child who did not get excited about unwrapping presents....lo l If she is excited it will be harder for her to fall asleep. Good luck .
