Hey , good idea with the unwrapping presents ! I will do that ! I think I'm basically going to just let her have everything she's normally not allowed to have all night long . LOL Minus pop or candy since she's not supposed to have caffeine in her system before the test ( TOO BAD ! ....Never thought I'd say that ! LOL ) . So all the arts and crafts we have in the school room that are normally locked up , some of her brother's *cool* toys they never want to share , etc .... I tried telling my husband having a puppy around would really help but he didn't go for that one ! LOL

We thought of a hotel room right away but unfortunetly I have no friends or family to take care of all the critters while we're gone  :-\ I'm getting anxious/nervous about all of this ,I sure can't wait until it's over . I'm just scared they'll either #1: Find nothing and we'll always wonder .,....or worse #2 find something really awesome that involves surgery or something . Ack , I'll go with number one if I must choose !

Well we made it thru OK !!! Tuesday night was a little rough , keeping her up until midnight . Waking Izabelle up at 4 am was kinda funny , she just stood there with her eyes closed swaying back and forth . hehe I got some of our critters out to play with her and that woke her up fast as she hardly gets to see them since they're nocturnal . The car ride in , whew .... That was another story ! She should have shaken baby syndrom with how much I kept jiggling her to keep her awake ! LOL We found out she can stand up in a moving vehicle while sleeping . LOL By the time we made it to the doctor's office she had caught her second wind ( that'll happen when it's 20 degrees out ! ) and I found myself wondering how I was going to get her to go to sleep ! LOL They glued all 25 of those little wires to her little head and she sat so good for it , then we sat back in a recliner , they propped up my feet , put a warm fuzzy blanket on us , turned out the lights and played soft music ...... an hour later they were waking us both up ! LOL So , we made it thru and the results should be back tomorrow or the next day !

Okay , got the SD-EEG results back today , first they said everything looks normal . Then they called back hours later and said after further review of the test they see she had an irregular heartbeat during the test but " Don't worry about it for now"  ??? and she's still supposed to meet with a neurologist on November 6th , so , I *guess* this is good news ? Or not ! LOL I don't know , but I'm trying to forget about it until her next apt. !

I agree to stop thinking about it for the time being, since there's not a thing you can do anyway.  The good news is there isn't anything that is obvious so whatever it is mustn't be too bad (fingers firmly crossed here and touching wood!!).  I would think the irregular heartbeat is from being so tired!!  It happens to me all the time and I'm old so it's not life-threatening!

Good job!  You're handling a tough situation well!! ;)

It obviously wasn't "irregular" enough to see a heart specialist ASAP, wasn't caught until a second review and they also need to be super cautious about anything even remotely, slightly out of the ordinary.  Sounds like you're pretty close to being in the clear though I'm sure you won't feel like that until you get all the details from the doc.  Glad the worst of it seems to be over!

I'm, of course , happy with the normal results , but I have to admit I am somewhat disapointed , I was just hoping for some kind of answer as to why she's still having seizures  ??? I just wish we knew why !

I'm sorry!  I didn't read through again today and was thinking she had not had any more in a while.  That is disturbing.

If there wasn't a clear malformation, clear reason for the seizures, it will probably be 'idiopathic epilepsy'.  That's the thing with idiopathic epilepsy...the re's never a 'for sure' reason.  I think it's actually good that there isn't a brain malformation, etc.  It could be just an 'electrical' thing that she may outgrow with time.  Medications are so good now and she's SO young.  I think there's a lot of reason for hope!!  I'm counting on it!

I didn't mean to sound mad or anything , I'm sorry !  :o In my mind I was hoping for just the slightest thing to show up on the EEG , something they could say " We see what is causing them , but you're in luck , it's healing nicely and will be gone in no time " LOL In the perfect world , right ?  :D She's otherwise , as healthy as can be and I thank God for that !!!!

That's it in a nutshell! As Jon's Doc put it...(summarizing)

"Think of the brain as a car's engine. Right now, the sparkplugs aren't right. As we grow, our brain grows as well and that forces the "wiring" to change as well. With luck (and he explained that this truly happens with most cases of pediactric epilipsy) they will outgrow the seizures as the hormones and chemicals change in the brain.

We're all pulling for you and Iz right now. Be sure to keep us updated.

Heavens!  I never thought you were mad!  Frustrated?  Yep!  Scared?  Absolutely!  but not mad.  I've had scary things with all four of my kids and the things I worried about most, usually never happened.  It's the things I didn't expect that seemed to be overwhelming at the time (and those things too, got better!!)

Things will get better!!  I just know it!
