I love the idea, but I also agree you should add something to it so every time you look at it or someone asks about it, you'll remember the date~time~place~meaning behind it(it must have a meaning)Another spot to consider is on your shoulder blade, weight gain/loss hasn't changed mine and I've had mine for 17yrs it does need to be re-done and I want to add 2 cubs to the side peaking out from behind in the future when I build up enough curage to do it again

you'll really enjoy it forever.  and if the color fades or something you can always have it touched up later.  the ink they make these days is so much better and the color stays so rich.  my first one looks as good as it did the first day i got it. 
and adding to it is a great idea. 
i think you'll like it on your arm where you mentioned putting it.

That is a fantastic tattoo!  The question now is where to put it!
