Just a rainy day...
« on: January 13, 2007, 02:28:13 pm »
It rained 5 inches this morning before 10am, and it's been raining on and off since then. There are flash flood warnings, closed roads, etc, and of course, I haven't replaced my roof yet, so I've got a leaky roof and more water damage. Sigh...

I grabbed my point and shoot camera from my purse this morning (I was thinking of heading out before I realized just how much it had rained), and I took some pics of the crew on this lazy Saturday morning.

Your guys are too cute.  The rain hasn't hit Houston yet but it's getting cloudier and cloudier.  Michael is on his way to Austin as we speak to see his dad.  He should have an adventurous drive from the sounds of it.

Most of the roads are open and the water has been doing down in flooded areas they're saying, but the on and off rain this afternoon isn't helping. Many areas that flooded only got 3 inches of rain-that's Austin, though... anything more than an inch and we've got water sitting around. Austin and San Antonio both flash flood very easily. We've got a few inches of dirt and then rock (limestone mostly, I think), so there's nowhere for the water to go.

Houston has pretty much the same thing except we sit on the bayous.  So roads flood real quickly around here especially with all the new construction going on too.  But on the plus side, Austin and San Antonio are such beautiful cities.

It was raining at home this morning.  Was supposed to all weekend.  We are driving to South Carolina, so we finally drove out of the mess.  The rain just makes me SO tired!
