what kinds of toys?
« on: February 01, 2007, 02:36:03 pm »
What kinds of toys do you give to your big paws? my golden retriever is so destructive with toys and never seems to have them for more than an hour before he rips them to shreds. we recently bought a toy that had a guarantee, but we got it home and it was torn up within an hour so we took it back to petsmart and a nice woman who worked there recommended a couple other toys to try so we bought one of them, and again, it was destroyed within an hour. so, we are going to take it back, but i was just wondering, are there any toys that are virtually indestructable, because i have yet to come across any. my dogs love love love toys and i want to find some that they can enjoy for longer than an hour. it seems if mankind can walk on the moon than surely we can invent a toy that a dog can not desttroy! lol.

This in the wolf size is a good durable ball.  you can put lil nylabones all in the holes for a different option as well.  Dazy is known as Dazy Distructo with the Jaws of Doom and she has had this ball for quite some time and hasn't torn it up.

Have you tried the ropes that are made of braided fleece strips instead of traditional ropes?  They are supposed to be more durable.  I haven't tried them yet though.

fumble has the attention span of a knat when it comes to toys!!!  but... there is this one bone that i got from a store on cape cod.. i know you can buy it online.  It's a nearly indestructible bone that comes in flavors, chocolate, peanut butter and pistachio.  i got him the chocolate one and it's taken him nearly 3 or 4 months to eat half the bone.  it digests fine and is easy on their stomachs... let me see if i can find the link for you!!
