Galahad went to the 4th of july parade
« on: July 08, 2005, 02:14:55 pm »
We took the kids and Galahad to the 4th parade. I am sure they look pretty much the same wherever you are in the US. lots of firetrucks making bunches of noice, police cars and ambulances, people with drums, horses, loud music singing and most things you can think of.

My wonderful Galahad who is only 18 weeks + just sat there, looked at it all and got more candy than the kids hehe. Everyone in the parade who saw him, shouted awwwww look at the doggy and threw a handful of candy over him, the kids got it, but Galahad got the hang of it, and started to compete for it, was doing divings over the totsie rolls and managed to chew some down with paper and all.

Mind you there was a minor blow to mine and his ego. A lady came up to us and said ohhhhhhh he is sooooooo cute, I have never before seen a st. bernard and boxer mix........... .... I smiled pretty and said and you still havnt....... He is a OEM I didnt shout it, but I felt like it, he is a baby, but dang........ he doesnt look like a st and boxer mix does he?

You are such a smart alec.  I love it.  :D

How sweet!  Glad he had fun and got lots of treats.

I've never seen a St. and boxer mix.  I doubt one would look like Galahad though.

Jack would have been great with one of them red fireman hats on lol..... I am sure had I not made Galahad stay by my side he would have tried to get onto everything too, especially after he realized that they had candy hehe.

Two weekends in a row, there have been fireworks Friday and Saturday nights at the park near my house.  I didn't realize that Maia had associated the loud noises with the darkness until Sunday night when she got to the door, saw it was dark and went to bed without going potty.

The more fireworks she heard, the more weary she got.  She is very into cause and effect.  I don't think she ever figured out what she was doing that was creating such a loud effect.  When it is light out, she runs out like usually, no issues.  Last night, she was still a little weary but I think by tonight she might be back to normal as long as no one decides to do fireworks in the rain tonight.

Who knows she might develop a sudden fear of thunder.
Thanks,

Emily and 1 husband, 1 boy, 1 on the way, and 4 crazy dogs
