Alternative E-collars
« on: March 18, 2007, 06:30:58 am »
Zoey's brother-in-law boo is having surgery this friday to remove a tumor from his eyelid, so he will need to wear an e-collar while he heals so he can't scratch at his stiches. I remember seeing a softer ecollar somewhere and I want him to have a comfortable one. Has anyone tried alternatives to the hard plastic e-collar?

Those collars are neat, but I don't think they would work since he needs to protect his face from his paws instead of protecting his body from chewing...

I have decided to try making him a softer e collar. I went to the fabric store and bought fusible fabric stuff that is super stiff, and I am going to put two layers of that together with cute fabric on the outside. That way it will be pliable when he wants to lay, eat, turn corners, etc, but it will still be stiff enough that he cant scratch around it. The materials were expensive so I'm crossing my fingers that it works
