Of all the wierd comments...
« on: May 08, 2007, 08:36:50 am »
this one takes the cake!  ::) A guy coming towards Bear & me said, "Beautiful dog. Can I smell him?" What??????? Who knows what he'd smell?  :P

And then, like 1 block later these guys asked if Bear was a Saint/Poodle mix. Is this the day of the crazies?  ???
Hugs,
Jaime

OH MY!!  That is weird!  Why on earth would someone want to smell a dog?  I love to smell puppy breath and babies, but I don't like to purposely smell my own dogs most of the time, much less someone elses.

And that is quite an interesting guess on Bear's breed.  I would have cracked up!
I am kind of a big deal!

there's nothing wrong with enjoying your clean dog, but how many people bury their faces in a dog (that they hardly know) when they see them in a store  ???  that can't be normal

This definately sounds like a great day to be carryin' mace.  I too love the freshly bathed smell of my pups, but I cannot imagine walking up & asking to smell someone's dog.  That's just flat weird!  Saint/Poodle???   ::)  ::)  Good grief!

People never cease to amaze me with the things they feel they can ask other people!!!  Eww, and the pervert thing crossed my mind too.  I mean really, who does that?  I wouldn't have let him smell my dog either.

And where on earth did the other person get a Poodle as part of the mix??  People always mistake Sierra for a Lab puppy, but a poodle??

Jamie I am laughing at you, most definitly!!! I've worked in a casino for six years and we see everything, and all I can say is thats a good one for "Freak of the Year". Tell Bear we would love to smell him too but it would because of the Bear Hug we were giving him, not some weird fetish.

OK, I'll admit that asking to smell a stranger's dog is a little weird, but I can kind of understand where he was coming from. I used to love smelling Oasis when he came in from outside because he smelled like fresh air and flowers.  Maybe the guy enjoyed the same thing with his dog and recently lost his dog and wanted to get that feeling back. You know, they say smell is the strongest sense linked to memory. I always bury my face in a new dog's fur when I'm allowed to pet them so I can smell them for the same reason.

Hmm... did I share too much?
