Fleas
« on: July 15, 2005, 01:15:51 pm »
I got 'em....
I brushed my guys with the flea comb last night just to see and sure enough they had really small baby fleas on them.  I only got 2 off Rocco but I got 5 off Maia.

They are both on Sentinol.  But my yard has woods behind it.  Just what I need right before I put my house on the market.

I am plan to do another bombing next week before it becomes and epidemic.

Fleas, what are they good for??
Thanks,

Emily and 1 husband, 1 boy, 1 on the way, and 4 crazy dogs

Bombing is great. .. but the dogs will bring in new fleas.
I was told something once when I had a dog that got fleas...oh it was bad.
Missy hated the solution...but it had to be done repeatatively.
He told me:

"Fleas can't swim."

So to get rid of the fleas on the dog...we waded in a very full tub and drowned them all...every night...till the fleas were gone.
The powder didn't work...you know the stuff you put on the dog.

We use that drop we get from the Vet.  Is this something you can get at the pet store?  Same thing as Revolutions, etc.?

ahahhhhhh! not fleas! how dare those pests invade your dogs fur!
My friends dad lives in Arkansas and they constantly pick ticks off his dogs!
Yuck!  I couldn't do it!  I've heard garlic works to keep fleas off your dogs.
Some natural dog supplement companies carry garlic formulas.
I'm so thankful my dogs haven't had fleas ...I'm OCD in the cleaning dept.
and fleas would put me over the edge!  gotta have my vacuum going all the time!
I heard labs shed a little, whew!  do they ever!  If my lab ever had fleas I wouldn't
know it because she would shed them all off!!!!  :)
Only dog parties at my place so far and no flea parties!  :)

Well, we did flea demolition on Saturday.  They all better be gone.  Rocco is still suffering from their invasion.  He has a nice shaved spot on his hind end where I shaved him so that I could clean a nice hot spot from his scratching his flea bites.  Rocco wasn't himself this weekend, he layed around and didn't even eat his rawhide or follow my Dad around.  My Dad even noticed 'his boy' wasn't acting right.  He wasn't so lethargic this am so I might hold off taking him to the vet.

Maia is as bouncy and crazy as usual and she had more fleas.  My guys are on Sentinol but I hadn't thought about Capstar.  All the sad posts from the weekend are freaking me out so I am going back and forth on just taking him in just in case or waiting it out.

The flea war has started on Emerson Ln. >:(
Thanks,
