Turkish Big Paw?

The other day while looking for fun things to chase in our back yard KD, Razz and I saw a fellow walking two very striking dogs on the other side of the canal.

They were white with black face/muzzles

I could shoot my self for not having my eyes on but anyway
I asked what breed and didnt get the name but I think I did hear him say they were Turkish dogs.

I told him to hook up here but dont really think he heard me

Any idea?

Here's a web site that gives info on 4 breeds of Turkish dogs.  I wonder if one of them looks like the pups that you met.  I hope that this helps.

I've always been curious about the Akbash, Maremma's, Anatolian Shephards, etc. b/c like Pyrs, they've been used for centuries as livestock guardians.

Thnx...I didnt see the link though. I searched through the night and although I found simular dogs the tails were wrong. You could tell the dogs are an old breed.

Did you see the dogs with metal spike collars?

The dog at the top of the home page has the black face that you mentioned.  Do any of them look like the dogs that you met?
