Bear's Backpacking Trip 2007
« on: August 20, 2007, 07:48:35 pm »
Bear went with us again backpacking thru the Kaiser Wilderness. He had a blast. We got to the trail head at about 1 in the morning and got to our destination at 4. Hiking thru the night made it a breeze for him as there was no sun beating down on him. Most of us were pretty beat by the time we got there and crashed out but one of my buddies wanted to get his fishing on. Bear, never one to miss a trip for fishing decided to join the all nighter. Of course by the time I woke up and went fishing, Bear had had enough. He ate his breakfast and caught some z z z's. By the time I got back he was ready to go. He offered again to carry some of my stuff - what a great dog! That night, he was so hungry he had eaten all of his dinner and his next day's breakfast. Poor guy. He didn't miss breakfast though! I did. :)

Looks like a lot of fun! I really want to take Phelan camping one day soon--we'll be using tents though ;) I'm all for the outdoors except when it tries to crawl on me :P

That was my buddy he was sleeping with after his all nighter. We decided it was better to sleep on the ground than to pack in tents. It wasn't as comfortable as I had hoped, that was certain. :)

What a hiking trooper! I'm pretty sure Rosie would have been pooped after a mile. Bear looks so handsome with his fanny pack, I mean backpack.

Its great to see Bear again, I would love to take Kali on a trip like that but all my friends are of the anti bush peeing persuasion as someone mentioned. How long of a hike was it, you implied three hours so around 10miles, thats a good haul.

Bear is such a handsome boy and so natural in the wilderness!  I wouldn't be suprised if he wasn't a boy scout in a past life! :)
