Sick of living In Town- I need to vent!
« on: August 29, 2007, 04:47:19 am »
Ok. SO- Many of you know, i live in a tiny town... and alot of you know im not fond of children... and i can NOT wait for school to start! "WHY?" YOU ASK. let me tell you:
everyone on my block has at least 2 kids. there are three right beside me, 3 down the street to my left, about 5 to my right, and ONE *who is a really good kid and i dont mind* behind me...  and- guess what?!?! They ALL play right beside my house... there is a tiny alley street beside my house- that goes up a hill. our street is actually all hill it goes DOWN than up again like... a roller coaster. these kids play there, all day long...  normally, i dont care. Minus winter time when they are always playing road hockey and swack balls off my fence... Or, they use my garage as a place to put a hockey net, its either there, or in the middle of the road so we have to go around them- and they DO NOT move their nets when cars are coming. Also- they slide down the hills- when we are trying to get out of our drive way (which is the bottom of the hill, and we have a major blind spot caused by another neighbours' tree. So- thats my winter time problem. and as u can guess, that takes a toll on the dogs!!! having kids outside, playing, screaming all day, hitting the fence with sticks, balls, etc.
Well, this week- the kids were outside playing (as they do all the time). but there are even more than normal this week. why, im not sure! these "new" kids are now outside, hitting the fence with, again, hockey sticks and balls. theres a sidewalk railing (made of metal) outside our house, because there is a church (and a church ramp) two houses down from me. and these kids were hitting the railing (which makes an aweful PING, and echo sound) with a METAL BAT. yep- that caused Zero to lose it. I caught one of the kids sticking his FINGERS into my fence and calling Zero!!! UM EXCUSE ME! Zero is not really "child friendly" due to having to put up with the neighbour BS. (or, atleast thats what i think it is from). Today, the kids were out there Screaming, howling. Throwing things (rocks, balls, etc) not at my fence but just throwing at whatever... And they are WHISTLING. of course this gets the dogs attention. Now- our bi-law states 3 "uncaged" pets per household, and so i really dont want to have to call someone about these kids, because it will flare off in my face (Cause i have way way more than limit allows). and i've talked to these kids, AND THEIR PARENTS so many times, they dont get it. ARRRHHH im so happy that school starts Tuesday! omg. am i ever.  And im dreading this long weekend. im sure there will be more kids playing-ugh, i can't wait to move!
thanks for listening LOL

ok here's the plan.... you and Darcy need to get 2 high powered paintball guns and ammo. crawl ontop of your house and have a stake out....bring food, I dont know how long youll be up there. when any twerp gets in range FIRE!!! that will take care of your 'infestation' problem. ;)

do you have dog warning signs up on your fence? even if they are unnecessary they might turn the kids off from messing with the pack.

Hehehe
I like the paintball gun idea!  Get some "target" practice in on the weekends.  ha ha
Okay when moving time comes, nice house, 20 mins out of town.  That's where I am, haven't lived in an actual city in close to 7 years.  I love it!  Not only are there no loud children around to bug my puppers, but it's SO nice and quiet at night, and being able to see the stars makes the extra half hour commute worth it.
Any ways, I feel your pain! ;)  Good luck with the neighborhood brats. and just remember to count down the days to when school starts!

Our last house had a HUGE great yard for being in town. We were at the end of a cudasac, and no houses behind us, just a field. The neighbors on one side kept to themselves, their kids were grown, but on the other side it was a rental. Being a military town, in 6 years we had 5 neighbors. All but the last one had kids. Every kid that lived there would hit bats against the fence, throw stuff at my dogs, etc. Thorn to this day HATES kids. Actually just boys most of the time (all the kids were boys) It got to the point that they would throw a ball or something and I would tell them it's the dogs now...Thorn tore up many nerf footballs, and basket balls etc. LOL It is anoying that people can't train their kids. They expect us to train our dogs.

yeah, i can relate to the problems you guys have had with kids in the neighborhoods!  i hate it when people don't control their kids, and don't have a clue (or care) what they're doing when they're "outside playing."
