Her bandage was removed a couple days ago, and so now we put some antibacterial ointment on it daily. She's taking a slew of medication: antibiotics, NSAID, Tagamet (to settle her stomach), and a probiotic (since she had some runny poop). For the first few days, we were putting a cold compress on her knee and paw area to reduce the swelling. I think we'll start putting some warm compress on it now that the redness and swelling have started to diminish. We put a cone on her head for a couple days to keep her from licking her incision, but she wouldn't tolerate it any longer. We figured she can't really reach the incision area and has only been licking her outer leg, so we've removed the cone now.

She seems more like her usual self now; she's back to begging for food and takes a couple steps here and there, without putting much/any weight on her leg.

I found the following website to be interesting and reassuring as a fellow big paw parent whose pup had to go through TPLO surgery. It has pretty good accounts of Before/After surgery experiences.

Her incision staples have been removed and she's now off all meds apart from her daily vitamin supplements. We're still assisting her with a sling just to reduce the stress on her leg. But if it were up to her, she would do without it. She's using the leg more, walking on it (more like hobbling really), and 'jogging' on it (when she manages to escape us). The only time she's outside is when she goes potty, she stays indoors confined to a room otherwise.

She seems to be healing well and improving slowly but surely. We're doing some stretch exercises on her leg as directed by the surgeon. We're looking into some hydrotherapy/therapy options in our area.
