My pyr must be really weird then...She only lays on her beds, carpet and our bed. She is not allowed on the furniture and she is not really interested in it anyways BUT she always wantd to be on the bed. After a year of a hard core battle she won    Now she sleeps on my feet 

Even when she is outside she uses a thick blanket to lay on

Ummm hmmm, sure she's not allowed on the furniture!  I seem to remember a really cute pic of Lily sitting on your lap in a big armchair.

It is very tempting to have her on my lap all the time 
not at her will though
