NDR - Vehicle Question - Please Answer, I'll Explain Later
« on: October 14, 2007, 03:36:02 pm »
Scenario:

Your household has two vehicles...

Vehicle 1: a 4-cylinder small SUV that is safe, dependable, roomy, and gets great gas mileage

Vehicle 2: a 8-cylinder fullsize 4 door pickup truck that is safer, roomier, and gets not-so-great gas mileage

You are a dual income family. The lady of the house is on maternity leave after having a child, therefore $ is a bit tight. You just bought this fullsize 4 door pickup as it was a great deal, the small pickup truck you had prior had just cost you a bundle of money to fix, and it wasn't roomy enough for your family (man, lady, baby, big paw).

The man of the house drives 60 km's a day (5 days a week) to work in the big city. The lady of the house only drives to run errands, doctor appointments, visit with mother, that kind of thing (of course, baby accompanies her).

Which vehicle would be more logical for the man of the house to drive?

Which vehicle would be more logical for the woman of the house to drive?

I'd love your opinions, thanks! ;D

ha ha ha i have to laugh b/c we had this problem not long ago!  *I* bought my explorer (v8, 4x4) for *me* and hubby likes it better than his smaller suv.  why?  i don't know, mine has no ac, is crappy on gas in the city, and is older.  his is an 04 v6 with ac and good gas mileage.

i agree, you get the big one ;)

Ha ha ha ha ha...you are all AWESOME and are cracking me up here  :D :D :D

My vechicle is actually very safe, I just think the "safer" one is the key here!  ::) Not to mention the mileage issue, logically, I should drive the big truck, as I do very little driving!!! ;) ;) ;)

I know I have lots of convincing to do…but I’ll keep working on that! ;D For now, I get to ride and drive it on weekends. I’ll let the “new truck” stage wear off from Eric for a bit, then go in for the kill (ha ha)!!!  :D :D :D

Eric’s friend sells trucks (as fleet vehicles) and Eric asked if he could please keep his eye open for a nice used/leaseback fullsize truck for us...He offered to get us a new Nissan Titan at fleet discount. He said if he drove it for 5,000 km’s, we could get a demo discount on top of the fleet discount. So, we got a really nice truck for about $11,000 less than what we’d pay on the lot. It was a good deal, it’s a nice truck, the family fits wonderfully inside and it will tow our trailer no prob!!!

I doubt I’ll remember to take a pic, but found this one on the net...this truck is the same color and everything  ;)

Thanks for all your insight on this one, I’ll keep working at it!!!
 ;)
