steak bone causing difficulty
« on: October 17, 2007, 08:10:35 am »
My big baby ate a steak bone and has had anal bleeding with stool ever since. I am so upset that he was given this bone and what has happened since. I want to know if anyone knows how i can get this to pass. Hopefully it will very soon. I am scared he will have permanent damage. We will probably go to the vet. soon. :'(

I wouldn't wait, go to the vet now, the bleeding is already present and sounds as he is having difficulty. If you are worried about permenant damage, taking him to the vet could very likely minimize any further damage and make you feel better too.

i agree, don't wait.  it could mean the difference of needing surgery and not needing it, or worst.

Please go to the vet now, obstructions can cause death if you wait too long.  They need to do an xray and see where the bone is located.
