Results from Sierra's vet visit
« on: October 17, 2007, 12:58:23 pm »
Jeff just got back from the vet with Sierra and the vet thinks all of the scratching is the result of a bacterial infection.  She gave us pills for Sierra to take 3x's a day and said if it doesn't help in a week or so, then she will be treated for...(GULP)...mange.  She said mange is prevelant in my area.  She also said it could be hereditary mange which is passed from mother to puppy and is not contagious to other animals.

Let's hope it's the bacteria.

She doesn't think it's allergies.  She said she's too young to be allergies and if it happens next year, allergies would be her main concern but not in a pup Sierra's age.  I guess that's good...it won't be something  Sierra will suffer with for the rest of her life.  An infection we can clear up and be done with it.  I'll let you know more in a week or so...

Poor Sierra, lets hope the meds clear it up. Fingers and paws crossed her.

Hopefully the meds work to alleviate the itching. Hope she feels better soon!
