im So Dumb!!!! RE- my sweet webley girl...

for the past 4 years, we had a beautiful 8 legged freak named Webley. she was a blue costa rican Zebra tarantula (aka a stripe knee). she was so beautiful. Approx. 8 years old, she was matured when we got her. she had stopped eating as much, because its getting colder she doesnt eat much in the fall- but i gave her a small bit of water the other day, and today, found her in her dish- belly up. my poor beautiful webley girl.
aw, how i will miss her, watching her molt. watching her eat, and thinking of all those times she escaped on us.

males usually live about 4 years and females can live up to 20

ok guys, i feel REALLY REALLY stupid right now
webley is still with us! she was just having a hard time molting. BAHAHAHAHAHAH  she was belly up for hours and hours and hours, not moving. I decided to wait until garbage day to put her out (so the dogs or cats didnt drag her from the garbage) and this morning, there was TWO of her. omg. Im so dense sometimes.  it must have been a really rough molt for her to not even move when i poked or blew or shook her tank. my goodness. poor thing. shes doing GREAT right now. and her color is SO vibrant. (gotta love that blue color when they first molt) ughhh im a ditz!

How often do they molt, just once or twice a year?

they molt once a year approx. but she hasnt molted in a long long time. her color is So vibrant now.
wait heres a pic *i will put as an attachment so people who are afraid of spideys dont have to look*. shes still in her "dish" the dish has VERY little water (only in a corner) so she doesnt drown or her food doesnt drown.  just so you's know also her molt is there, and u can see it. its broken to bits so it must have been tough on her.

omg!  thank goodness she's still around!  she's SO pretty!  i love her!  we had a class pet tarantula that was awesome in HS.  i loved it but hubby said no spidies.  ever.  he hates "creepy crawlies" lol

your hubby sounds like a big baby. what man doesnt like creepy crawlies? mine had a scorpion - she had babies. he got me my webley girl. aww. lol ur hubbys a wimp LOL KIDDING
