Seattle Park poisoning
« on: February 03, 2008, 02:02:38 am »
I read this on another list and thought I would share it here.  I don't know if any of you live in Seattle, but if not, maybe you know some dog lovers who do.

If anyone lives, or knows someone in, Seattle, WA, this is important info for their pets and
small children.

Subject: Important for Seattle residents

Yesterday my best friend's Berner, Amos, was poisoned in Fauntlery
Park in West Seattle. Apparently someone has been hiding baited
packages (chicken bones, meat, dry & canned dog & cat foods) laced
with who-knows-what poisons in the park. Stomach contents are being
analyzed, but it could take up to 10 days to determine substances.
Pasado's Safe Haven has been contacted and they are looking into what
they can do. If you live, or have friends in that area, please
spread the word. Somebody is doing this intentionally and they have
likely bragged to someone about it.

----------------------------------------------------------

I received the above e-mail from one of our volunteers and felt that
I should share it with all of you because even if you don't live in
this area or frequent this park, you may know someone who does.
Sometimes we need to work together to keep our dogs safe.

It's hard to imagine why anyone would do something like that.
