6 month old cream coloured male retriever

hi all does anyone have any idea why my 6 month old retriever seems to be lacking in enthusiasm although he has never been hyper as he has got older he seems less intrested in playing and will not chase a ball and seems to sleep a lot. we thought he may have been lonely so we recently purchased a bitch of a simalar age to keep him company and although they do play together and spend a lot of time in the garden he always looks almost depressed any clue anyone

hi welcome to the board!!  I have a English Springer Spaniel who is the same.  He never plays always is sleeping pretty much lathargic but he has been very lais back from a puppy snd as an adult the only thing that gets him excited is any body of water than he turns into a crazy dog.

But other than that he just sleeps and walks arond with his sad face.  That is just his personality
